Magsorbeo Biomedical

At Magsorbeo Biomedical, we are pushing the boundaries of innovation to improve health outcomes for surgery patients. We are making great strides in our efforts to develop a new market leader in bioabsorbable implant technology – implants that will maintain the strength and performance of titanium to support bone fixation and then be safely absorbed into the body and excreted – eliminating the need for removal surgeries and other long-term complications, and the healthcare costs associated with leaving permanent hardware in the body. We have a number of exciting new developments to share with our followers!

In this newsletter, we provide updates on: response to our early product prototypes, preclinical study results, team expansion, FDA engagement and upcoming critical milestones.

As always, we want to acknowledge our invaluable partners who play a pivotal role in this journey: Terves, our instrumental co-development partner and source of alloy; BioPro, our trusted implant machining partner; and Complex Materials, our high-quality extrusion partner.

Through these partnerships, we are thrilled to share that we have now successfully designed, created and tested our first round of plate and screw prototypes! These prototypes enabled us to achieve three important milestones in our early development process: 1) initiate formal preclinical studies, 2) perform material testing against market competitors to optimize our alloy, and 3) engage expert surgeon KOLs to handle the prototypes for reaction/comparison to the titanium and polymers currently used in their clinical work. All three milestones had favorable results in validating our direction, with the expert surgeon reactions being particularly positive upon handling the prototypes, with many of them expressing interest in further involvement in our work.
